* Note on the Doctoral Thesis Monitoring Exam

Article 21(4) of the Regulation on Graduate Education and Training states: “For a student whose thesis proposal has been accepted, the thesis monitoring committee convenes at least twice a year, once between January and June and once between July and December. The student submits a written report to the committee members at least one month before the meeting date. This report sets out a summary of the work carried out to date and the work plan for the following period. The student’s thesis work is assessed by the committee as successful or unsuccessful. A student found unsuccessful twice consecutively or three times intermittently by the committee is dismissed from the higher education institution.”

In line with this provision, an exam date may be set for no later than one month ahead. Since an exam date cannot fall after 31 December in the fall semester or after 30 June in the spring semester, no thesis monitoring date can be assigned beyond these dates.
